Demolition Process and Timeline: From First Visit to Final Check
Active machine teardown on site usually takes just a few days—while utility shut-offs and city permit reviews take the longest. Planning both phases in order keeps your builder on schedule.
Phase 1: Free Site Visit & Written Estimate (Days 1–3)
We walk your San Diego parcel, measure structures and slabs, check alley/gate clearance and neighbor fences, and deliver an itemized written estimate listing every included step.
Phase 2: Testing, Utility Disconnects & Permits (Weeks 2–6)
SDG&E gas and electric meter pulls, water/sewer capping, asbestos/lead lab testing on older structures, and municipal permit issuance happen before demolition day. Homes 45+ years old in the City of San Diego may require additional DSD historical review time.
Phase 3: Active Teardown, Dust Control & Sorting (1–5 Workdays)
Once clearances are in hand, we install perimeter fencing, set up continuous water misting, dismantle the structure piece by piece, extract the slab and footings, and separate concrete and metal for recycling.
Phase 4: Grading, Street Sweep & Inspector Sign-Off (1–2 Days)
We backfill excavations, level the pad for positive drainage, run a magnetic nail sweep across yard and street, and meet the municipal building inspector for final permit closure.
